Swap Lab

Same plate. Different math.

Every recipe here runs on a handful of swaps. Flip the cards you'd actually make and watch what one day of eating turns into.

Why this kitchen exists

We didn't quit the food. We rebuilt it.

I'm Garrett. For years my wife and I ate like most busy people do: drive-thru lunches, late dinners, whatever was fast. We each lost over 95 pounds without giving up burritos, bowls, or dessert. We learned how to build them differently.

Everything on this site is something we cook for our family, in our own kitchen, with the macros weighed off real labels. No meal plans to buy into, no "clean eating." Just the food you already want, made to fit.

  • 1
Protein first, then build the plate.40g or more is the anchor. Everything else is seasoning.
  • 2
Swap the sauce before you cut the portion.Creamy stuff is where the calories hide. Cottage cheese and Greek yogurt fix it.
  • 3
If it doesn't taste good, we don't eat it.Neither should you.

The app I built for this

GetSwapped

I got tired of opening the fridge and ordering takeout anyway. So I built the thing I wanted: point your phone at what you've got, and it tells you what high-protein meal you can make tonight.

The house rule

If my family doesn't finish it, it doesn't get posted.

Every recipe here gets cooked in my kitchen and eaten at my table before it goes up. The cheese pull on that cheesy beef burrito is real. So is the 52 grams of protein.
